Welcome to the A T I A 2009 Chicago conference wayfinding service, provided to you by ClickAndGo Maps.

The Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center is a large rectangular building with 3 separate areas, and connected by long interior hallways. From East to West, it begins with the Convention Center, continues through to the Schaumburg Ballroom area, and then ends in the main Renaissance Hotel area. Each area has its own main entrance.

The convention center has 2 levels, and they consist of meeting rooms, lounge areas and restrooms, with options to use elevators, escalators or stairs. The Schaumburg Ballroom area has one level with 2 main ballrooms and 8 small meetings rooms. The Renaissance Hotel has 2 main levels with restaurants, lounges, a registration desk, fitness area and outdoor patio, along with higher floors with the hotel guest rooms. There are options to use the main escalators or the elevators. Note that the escalators are only available between the 1st floor and the lobby floor. Traveling to or from any higher floors requires use of the elevators. Stairs are only available in the hotel as emergency routes. There are also pet relief areas at both the East and West ends of the complex.

It is important to note some terminology used with this wayfinding service. For example, the Renaissance Hotel uses the term “lobby floor” to designate the 2nd floor and not the ground floor. The ground floor of the hotel is called the 1st floor.

The first and second floors of the hotel both have the very centrally located landmarks of the “up and down escalators”. These escalator areas will be called the “main foyer 1st floor” and the “main foyer lobby floor”, and will be used as starting and end points for many of the interior routes.

We hope that the accessible walking directions and point of interest information will enhance your experience at the ATIA conference, and allow you to enjoy greater independence within the hotel and conference areas. Please become familiar with the list of available landmarks and make your selections for route directions or point of interest descriptions.
