University of Minnesota

The University of Minnesota has 3 main campuses: the East Bank, West Bank, and Saint Paul campuses. This wayfinding service will initially focus on the East and West Bank areas, which are separated by the Mississippi River. Routes and points of interest will gradually expand, all based upon the needs and requests of students.

The East Bank forms a large square-shaped campus, extending some 10 blocks from West to East. It has the Mississippi River as its westernmost point and Huron Boulevard as its easternmost point. There are approximately 12 blocks from North to South, with Dinkytown and recreation fields as the northernmost points, and the East River Parkway and the river itself, as the southernmost points. Washington Avenue runs through the central part of this campus, passing the Coffman Union, Stadium Village, and the Radisson Hotel. Several city and university buses have major bus stops on this avenue.

The West bank is half the size of the East Bank, forming a smaller square-shaped area approximately 5 blocks distance West to East and 6 blocks distance North to South. The Washington Avenue buses also runs through the center of this campus, stopping near Blegen and Willey Halls. The Humphrey Center and the Carlson School of Management are at the heart of this campus.
